Upcoming Trainings:

Contracting for Polyamory

Friday, February 21, 2025

Have you ever wondered how to help clients open up their relationship? Or do you work with non-monogamous clients and notice feeling drained in the process of endless shifts in a relationships’ agreements, boundary enforcement, and can't shake the feel like they keep looking to you to be the judge, jury, and mediator? Your facilitators for the day GET IT. That’s why they put together a 6 CEU event for BSW, BBHT, and BMFT (with 1 Cultural Competency and 1 Ethics), where you'll get less “boring lecture” and more “get your hands dirty” learning.

At the end of our six hours together (plus an hour for lunch), you will confidently:

  • Be able to identify and explain the differences in, and practices of, monogamy, ethical non-monogamy, polyamory in various compositions and contexts.

  • Be able to speak to what the therapist’s role is in facilitating helping clients explore non-monogamy

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the ethics in doing this work, and the culturally relevant factors in working with this population

  • Be able to understand what the current research says about going from monogamy to non-monogamy for couples (resources and references for clinicians and clients)

  • Understand how contracting works, what is universal vs. unique, and how it’s a “working, living, breathing document” for you and the clients

  • Be able to confidently deploy tools related to love, sex, and polyamory to inform the contracting process

  • Be able to apply your learning to cases
